VIENNA, Austria - June 03, 2019 – Currently, BAWAG P.S.K. is the only bank to enable customers, who are also registered in the jö Bonus Club, to view their Ös points in Digital Banking: The "Meine Ös" feature is newly implemented in klar, BAWAG P.S.K.'s new digital banking app. "We want to continuously improve and enhance the digital customer experience, to give our customers a simple and transparent view of their own financial life and to enable them to manage their financials even more independently. One month after the GO LIVE of the new app, we are already able to present a new feature: “Meine Ös”. Accumulating Ös while doing the daily banking business, is another way that we want to bring value to the everyday life to our customers,” explains Marcus Kapun, Chief Digital Officer of BAWAG P.S.K. Furthermore, BAWAG P.S.K. enables jö customers to also donate their Ös to social projects by having contributed the Crowdfunding.at platform to the jö partnership and by continuing to manage it.
BAWAG P.S.K. the first and so far only bank to display Ös points in digital banking
Just a few weeks after the successful launch of the jö Bonus Club, the multi-partner program has arrived in the everyday life of Austrians: The jö card is already used more than 500,000 times a day. More than 2 million physical cards have been issued so far. As jö Bonus Club partner from the very beginning and so far the only Austrian bank, BAWAG P.S.K. shows its customers their current Ös points in the digital banking app “klar”. Kapun: "The "Meine Ös" feature is very useful in everyday life and shows all Ös collected through the partner network." The feature also displays additional Ös that BAWAG P.S.K. customers can collect, for example, by making payments with their account or credit card or by opening a current account. It is automatically available to users who have updated the Digital Banking app and activated their jö account at BAWAG P.S.K.
Ös for good deeds: BAWAG P.S.K. contributes donation tool to jö
In addition to the advantages and additional features for its customers, BAWAG P.S.K. has also contributed its successful Crowfunding.at platform "ES GEHT!" to the jö partnership and continues to manage the platform. jö customers throughout Austria can also use their collected Ös for social projects in Austria and thus simply do a good deed. "The social projects are now accessible to an even wider audience through the integration into the jö Bonus Club. We hope to further increase the awareness of social projects and personal commitment in Austria," explains Claudia Lemlihi, Head of Marketing Communication at BAWAG P.S.K. and ES GEHT! initiator. Since its launch in 2014, the crowdfunding platform has collected more than € 600,000 for financing. Lemlihi: "We have lowered the funding limit to make it possible for the jö community to finance a larger number of projects and thus realize them even more quickly.”
Among the projects that can be financed through jö are "sozialBOX", which enables socially disadvantaged children to attend summer sports camps, and "Babypaket für einen guten Start" from Caritas. The project provides young and poverty-stricken families with useful stuff for the youngest. Furthermore, collected Ös can be donated to the Austrian Red Cross for the training of search dogs, as well as to the project "Wissens°raum”, in which empty business premises in socially disadvantaged areas are converted into pop-up science centers for a few months.
klar: more flexibility in card management
From collected Ös to the current account balance or credit card transactions – the BAWAG P.S.K. Digital Banking app "klar" provides users with a transparent overview of their financials everywhere and anytime. In addition to the start features of the app such as the personal finance manager "klar sehen", which breaks down all expenses into categories, improvements have also been made to the main banking functions: users can block and unblock cards themselves, if they have misplaced them. "Plus, it is very easy to deactivate the GeoControl function and increase card limits before leaving for holidays, for example," explains Marcus Kapun.
Following customer's requests, BAWAG P.S.K. has imported templates from former BAWAG P.S.K. Digital Banking to simplify the handling of transactions. Kapun: "The feedback function in the app is very important to us. The development team works together in an agile way to react quickly and develop new features."
