• BAWAG Group receives green electricity of easy green energy at all locations in Austria
  • Germany: Südwestbank headquarters is fully supplied with sustainable electricity too
  • Changeover to green electricity is part of the recently published BAWAG Group sustainability programme

VIENNA, Austria - March 19, 2019 – The BAWAG Group has switched to green electricity at its central locations and at all BAWAG P.S.K. branches in Austria. Thus, the Group makes an environmentally friendly statement and demonstrates its consistent efforts to reduce the consumption of natural resources. “By moving its headquarters to an energy-efficient and modern office building, the BAWAG Group has completed to switch to 100% green electricity in Austria. We get our energy from local hydropower," explains Werner Rodax, Chief Operating Officer of the BAWAG Group. "We are also happy, that we were able to reduce our CO2 footprint in Austria in 2018 compared to the previous year.”

The BAWAG Group receives its electricity from easy green energy, a subsidiary of easybank. easy green energy electricity comes entirely from hydropower and renewable energy sources and is produced in Austria.

In addition to all BAWAG P.S.K. branches and the central locations of BAWAG Group in Austria, the headquarters of the Südwestbank in Germany, which is part of the BAWAG Group since 2017, is fully supplied with electricity from renewable energy sources too.

The switch to energy suppliers with a sustainable offering is part of the BAWAG Group's sustainability programme, which was published last week as part of the Group-wide Corporate Social Responsibility Report 2018. The complete BAWAG Group CSR Report 2018 is available here:
