VIENNA, 16 November 2018 – The first F10 FinTech Hackathon, organized by the Swiss NPO “F10 Incubator & Accelerator”, kicks off today at the weXelerate start-up and innovation hub in Vienna. This weekend, around 100 participants will show off their skills while creating technological innovations. BAWAG P.S.K. is a Platinum Sponsor of the event. In addition, specialists from various BAWAG P.SK. divisions will take part in the hackathon. “We look forward to seeing remarkable ideas for the financial world,” said Marcus Kapun, who heads the Digital & Data Office at BAWAG P.S.K.

The BAWAG P.S.K. is currently working with numerous Austrian and international fintechs in order to enhance technologies and services for its customers on an ongoing basis. Last year, BAWAG P.S.K. also supported the “PSD2 and beyond” programming competition as a Diamond Sponsor and honored the Austrian start-up Handcheque, which had turned a novel idea about a real-time suggestion system for customers into a prototype, with the “BAWAG P.S.K. Retail Innovation Award”.

But innovation is also an important issue within the company, emphasized Kapun: “We are very proud of the fact that currently about 200 colleagues work in an agile team structure in our Digital & Data Office. This enables us to create a more dynamic and attractive working environment: In agile teams, we can react much more flexibly and quickly to our customers’ requests and suggestions.”

BAWAG P.S.K. currently offers a wide range of job opportunities in the Digital & Data Office: “We are always looking for talented individuals to help us drive technological progress at the bank,” explained Kapun.
